Thursday 24 March has been nominated as ‘Wear a Hat’ day by the staff at Fire Depot.  Each member of the team will wear their chosen hat throughout the day in support of the Brain Tumour Research charity.

The company has set a target of raising £2500.00 for the charity and is asking its customers and suppliers to help them achieve this by donating via its Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/Sentura-Group-wear-a-hat-day

The company has also pledged to match donations pound for pound and will be blogging and posting photos of the hats and their owners throughout the day on LinkedIn & Twitter. Wear a Hat Day has gained significant celebrity support since the first event in 2010. Famous Supporters for Wear a Hat Day this year include Kevin McCloud and Sarah Beeny among others.

Laurie Pollard, Managing Partner at Fire Depot commented:  ‘We want to raise money and awareness for the Brain Tumour Research charity, as they get very limited support from the Government for this. We all know someone whose life has been affected by brain tumours and cancer, and we want to make a difference for them and to those who will have it in the future’.

Wear a Hat day, now in its sixth year, is the premier brain tumour awareness event in the UK, and a culmination of Brain Tumour Awareness month which helps to support long-term, life-saving research.  According to Brain Tumour Research, 16,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year.  Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
