Thursday 14th May saw another Charity Golf Day for the Fire Industry Golf Association. This event was to raise funds for the following charities:
- NSPCC
- MNDA
What a fantastic selection of charities! These were all chosen by the players at the event and the day raised a total of £3000, which included a donation from Fire Depot.
“It’s a great privilege to have been included in this event” says Laurie Pollard, Managing Director of Fire Depot, “charities like this need all the support they can get. I think the Charity Golf Day is a brilliant idea.”
The weather forecast was predicting a wet day for the players so Fire Depot also donated an umbrella to each golfer. Thankfully, the rain held off so they weren’t needed. No doubt the British weather will give them opportunity to use them at a later date!
Fire Depot also paid for a professional photographer to attend the event, saving the Golf Association another pound or two. David Murfitt, Organiser of the Charity Golf Day, expressed his thanks to Fire Depot: “I would like to thank you for your generous support on this event.”
All in all, a very successful event so let’s look forward to next year!
