Thursday 12th May 2016 saw the third gathering of the Fire Industry Golf Society for its annual charity golf day at Belton Woods near Grantham in Lincolnshire. The competition was on ‘The
Lakes’ course where water accompanies most holes!
The event raised a fantastic £4,461 and each of the following charities as chosen by the players will receive £550 each:
Whizz-Kids
Alzheimer's Society
Help for Heroes
British Heart Foundation
Prostate Cancer UK
NSPCC
Children's Burns Trust
Macmillan Cancer Support
Fire Depot provided the players with goody bags containing the all important chocolate bars and bottles of water - as well as other gifts - to keep them going during the day and fortunately, the weather was glorious, so no need this year for the Fire Depot umbrellas, except as sunshades of course!
Fire Depot also provided a number of raffle prizes and paid for a professional photographer to attend the event and capture the events of the day. David Murfitt, Organiser of the Charity Golf Day, expressed his thanks to Fire Depot and the other supporters of the day saying: “To everyone involved, a massive thank you, it is much appreciated. The support you have given the Fire Industry Charity Golf Day is amazing'.
